Sport and physical activity are important parts of school life, with tremendous emphasis placed upon enjoyment and participation.

Activities at Lower School meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and allow students to taste numerous sports whilst the organisation of the timetable at Upper School affords students opportunities to experience everything from individual pursuits, as well as traditional team games. Students also have the opportunity to undertake leadership awards too.

Park View has very high participation rates during the school day but also in extra curricular activities. We have clubs which encourage a recreational approach, ranging from activities such as Volleyball, Badminton, Trampolining and Table Tennis to those which are focussed upon the Gifted and Talented.

In team games, the school has a highly successful record in regional football, netball and cricket competitions, one which is matched in more individual pursuits. We have represented the North East in recent years in the Indoor Athletics Finals, National Biathlon Finals, National Schools Golf Finals, the National Cross Country Championships, National Swimming Finals and the All England Track and Field Finals, a remarkable achievement for a state school.

This success is further cemented Post-16 with the phenomenal success of our Academy of Sport. The AoS was formed in 2017 and has since gone onto win National competitions in Men’s and Women’s football as well as having strong representation in Rugby, Cricket, Netball, Athletics and Rowing.
