This week, our Year 7 students have been writing heartfelt letters to members of staff, thanking them for their kindness, encouragement, support and, in some cases, even their sense of humour and football skills! β½π
Read moreThe activity was organised by Mr Bishop as part of a longstanding tradition within our IT department. Inspired by a letter he received from a student many years ago, which had a lasting impact on him and his career, Mr Bishop wanted our current staff to experience that same wonderful feeling of appreciation.
It's lovely to see our young people taking the time to recognise those who make a difference to their school experience, while building such positive relationships across our school community.

It was a pleasure to welcome Sergio from the Red Sky Foundation to Park View today for a fantastic Year 11 assembly.
Following the brilliant fundraising efforts of four of our boys, Sergio joined us to share the story behind Red Sky Read moreFoundation and the incredible work the charity does to support people and communities across our region.
The assembly was entertaining, engaging and hugely informative, helping our students understand the importance of the charity's work and the difference that individuals can make.

As part of our Year 9 Character Programme's community projects, Mrs Morrell's wonderful group of students took to Front Street in Read moreChester-le-Street with a very special mission: to spread a little happiness! π
Armed with handmade Happiness Care Packages containing thoughtful messages, sweets and small gifts, our students surprised members of the public and local business owners with unexpected acts of kindness.
And one moment in particular captured exactly why projects like this matter.
Kasha, one of our Year 9 students, handed a package to a lady who had very recently lost her husband. The unexpected kindness moved her to tears. β€οΈ
A simple gesture, a thoughtful message and a moment of human connection that meant so much more than our students could ever have imagined.
This is what character education is all about. Developing young people who recognise the importance of kindness, empathy and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
We couldn't be more proud of Mrs Morrell's group and the warmth and compassion they brought to our local community.
