- Modern Foreign Languages
- History
- Geography
- Religious Education
- Design and Technology
- Music
- Drama
At Park View, we are passionate about contributing to the development of the next generation of teachers in order to make a real difference to the lives of young people. Applicants can expect an outstanding training experience, with an evidence-informed CPD programme to support them as they embark on their teaching career. They will be supported by experienced teachers, leaders and subject experts. Alongside the in-school provision, trainees will engage in professional development sessions led by Durham SCITT.
Trainees will get hands-on experience of teaching from the outset. They will have a subject mentor who will provide them with specific feedback and guidance on all aspects of teaching throughout their time with us. They will also be supported by our two professional mentors across a range of areas related to the profession. In summary, there is a wide range of support available for the duration of the course.
Whilst the majority of the year will be spent with us at Park View, trainees will also embark on a short placement in a second school during the spring term. This will allow them to broaden their experience of teaching and learning in different contexts.
