Homework plays an important role in academic achievement, as well as encouraging students to develop their independence as learners. At Park View, homework is set regularly via the ‘ClassCharts’ programme. This is also used to monitor completion and provide students with feedback. The programme is accessible via the website below or on your tablet or mobile device.
As homework is set to assist and develop students’ learning, we expect some form of homework – planning, writing, reading or research, for instance – to be undertaken each night. To help students with the completion of homework, the Learning Resource Centre at each site is open for study at lunchtimes and after school.
In Sixth Form a large part of student success is their engagement in independent study, this forms a crucial part of the post 16 studies. We recommend that for every course a student is taking, they complete 3-4 hours of independent study per week.
