The Sixth Form Centre situated on the Church Chare site allows post 16 students to enjoy a degree of independence. This facility houses not only classrooms but also a fully equipped study centre and a discrete common room.
We have 450 students in our Sixth Form. Our ‘staying on’ rate is high and we welcome students from other institutions. The majority of our students progress to university, including places at Oxford and Cambridge, whilst some look to earn apprenticeships and some go onto employment.
There is a focus upon Information, Advice and Guidance which allows all to get the information and support they need to make choices from a position of strength.
Academic success is obviously important but it is vital that our students also have experiences and opportunities which will further develop them and allow them to present well at interview. Our Enrichment Programme sees students organise fund raising events for charity, undertake community service or voluntary work experience and engage in sport and sports leadership as well as accessing the overseas visits programme.
We offer a wide ranging curriculum, blending the academic with the vocational, which is intended to allow individual students to develop in areas of strength and interest.
