Design Faculty Vision and Intent
The Design Faculty is unique, our students are too. We would hope to cherish and nurture this quality, embracing individuality and supporting above all else independence and creativity in everything we and they do. We value risk taking, actively encourage challenge and support the theory that there is no right answer.
Over time we hope to develop a curiosity in our students; we want them to question and challenge us so that eventually they put us to the test, developing concepts and ideas that we may not have seen before. We would hope that they would match our sense of fun and adventure and that they too will find joy in discovering something new. We want them to be genuinely proud of their work and to feel like they have ownership. In short we would hope that they would take charge of their own progress and it’s our role to help them to build the necessary skills to be able to do this successfully; this will underpin everything we do.
The Food and Nutrition curriculum aims to equip students with the knowledge, understanding, and skills required to make informed decisions about their diet and nutrition. This subject combines scientific principles with practical skills to foster a comprehensive understanding of food production, preparation, and its impact on health and well-being. The curriculum is designed to develop critical thinkers who can apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, promoting healthy living through the creation of enticing dishes.
